You arrive at a beautiful place.
A mountain. A café. A city street. A hotel room with incredible light.

You pull out your smartphone... and suddenly you don't know what to film.

So you record a few wide shots, pans, maybe a coffee close-up - and later, when you try to edit, it feels like a collection of randon clips instead of a story.

That isn't a camera problem. It's a decision problem.

Most cinematic video courses teach settings, transitions, and editing tricks.
But the real difference between ordinary footage and cinematic story is much simpler:

The Cinematic Video Playbook gives you that decision-making framework.

This is not another gear-heavy filmmaking course.

It's a practical field guide you can open while you're filming to exactly:

1. What shot to capture next

2. What emotion the scene should create

3. How to build a beginning, middle and end

4. How to film feelings, not just footage

5. How to create sequences that edit together effortlessly

Whether you're traveling, exploring a city, hiking, documenting your life or creating content for Instagram, YouTube or TikTok, this guide helps you make better creative decisions in real time.

Here's What You'll Get

The Cinematic Video Playbook (PDF) is a practical guide that teaches you how to think like a filmmaker from the moment you arrive at a location to the final edit.

Inside you'll learn:
  • The essential shots every cinematic story needs
  • How to create emotional sequences
  • The difference between beautiful clips and meaningful footage
  • Movement, composition and visual rhythm
  • How to edit with intention instead of guessing

BONUS:
The Cinematic Storytelling Field Guide

This is the part students keep coming back to. Think of it as a pocket filmmaker's companion.

Open it on your phone before filming and you'll instantly know:
It's designed to be used in the field, not just read once and forgotten.
  • The 5 essential shots every cinematic story needs.

  • 4 storytelling questions filmmakers ask before every scene.

  • 5 composition priciples that instantly make your shots feel more cinematic.

  • The simple editing framework that turns random clips into a cohesive story.

  • The 10 most common filming mistakes that instantly make videos feel amateur.

Real Cinematic Breakdowns

See real videos broken down. Understand the thinking behind every shot:
  • Why a shot was chosen

  • What emotion it creates

  • How it connects to the next shot

  • How the entire story is constructed from simple smartphone footage

This Is For You If ...

  • You film with a smartphone and want results that look intentional and cinematic.
  • You often don't know what to record when you arrive somewhere interesting.
  • Your camera roll is full of clips that never become great videos.
  • You want people to feel something when they watch your content.
  • You care more about storytelling than buying expensive gear.

What Makes This Different?

Most creators learn filmmaking backwards. They start with:
Gear Settings Editing Hope

This Playbook teaches the process professionals actually use:
Emotion Story Shot Choice Sequence Edit

When you reverse the order, everything becomes easier.
You stop collecting random footage. You start capturing moments with a purpose.

Every Video You'll Ever Film Starts Here

Think about the next trip you'll take.
The next sunset you'll watch.
The incredible people you are going to meet.
The next birthday or milestone you'll celebrate.
The next moment you'll wish you could relive.

You're going to film those moments anyway.

The only question is whether they'll become random clips that stay forgotten in your camera roll - or cinematic stories you'll love coming back to.

Kerstin Maria Semmelmeyer -
Filmmaker & Cinematic Storytelling Mentor

Hi, I'm Kerstin Maria.

I've been creating content since 2016 and working professionally as a filmmaker for the past 5 years. I've created around 100 productions - from the first storyboard idea all the way through filming, editing and final delivery.

Over time, storytelling became second nature to me.
And then started seeing something again and again: So many videos are technically fine, but they don't make you feel anything. And often, they don't need better cameras or more expensive gear.

They simply need better decisions:
What moment to capture.
Which detail matters.
Which shot tells the story.

That's what I want to teach you.

After moving to the Salzburg mountains with my partner, our toddler, and probably too many camera bags, I was reminded how important it is to capture the little moments.

Because life moves quickly.

The places we visit.
The people we love.
The small everyday moments we think we'll always remember.
But we often forget.

I believe the best stories are found through awareness - by learning to truly see what is already around you. A good eye isn't something you're born with. It's something you can learn. And once you learn how to see, you'll never look at filming the same way again.

Film with intention.

Tell stories that matter.
